A Sustainable Brother

My Bernina is starting to get a little glitchy and it's been frustrating me a lot lately, so I thought it be good to look into how much it may cost to buy a new sewing machine versus paying for the repairs to Ms. Bernina. Turns out that the costs would be very similar. So, I've been looking at other machines to see if I could find a more cost and energy efficient machine. Searching high and low, I found this brother machine that cuts the energy use 41% compared to the more common sewing machine.

Sustainable LOCAL Kansas City Restaurant

There is this new local restaurant down in the 17th and Summit area of of the West side of the KC crossroads, named The Westside Local. It's two years old, and they are working on trying to be as close to zero carbon footprint as possible. They have their own backyard garden, and local farmers in their neighborhood that can be walked to the kitchen. The food is absolutely delicious, and I definitely recommend it to anyone for the food, and for their ethics.

Recycled Denim: Levi's

As I was online shopping, I came across these great new jeans from Levi's. It's hard to find some good quality jeans that are at a good price, AND made out of recycled materials. Today it's really hard to find ethical companies that deal with worrying about where they leave their carbon footprint.
